Type A Media is proud to announce local author Skye Smith’s debut novella, Becoming Calla, based on the sold out 2023 Fringe North Festival dance theatre show, Calla – also written and performed by Skye Smith.

Becoming Calla tells the coming of age story of Calla as she navigates first love, body image, trauma, and domestic abuse and substance abuse – and continues to delve into her journey through motherhood. Set against the backdrop of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in recent years, Becoming Calla is a devastating but beautiful exploration of contemporary womanhood.
